About the Journal

Publishing evidence to advance health equity and strengthen health systems worldwide.

The International Journal of Global Health

IJGH is an international open access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research that addresses the health challenges facing populations in low- and middle-income countries and advances our understanding of global health priorities.

Our Mission

The International Journal of Global Health exists to accelerate the translation of research into policy and practice. We publish research covering the full spectrum of global health challenges—from infectious diseases to non-communicable diseases, from maternal and child health to health systems strengthening, from epidemiological analysis to implementation science.

Scope and Focus

IJGH prioritizes research with direct implications for health policy and practice in resource-limited settings:

Infectious Diseases

HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, neglected tropical diseases, emerging pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance.

Non-Communicable Diseases

Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, mental health, and chronic respiratory conditions in LMICs.

Maternal & Child Health

Maternal mortality reduction, neonatal care, child nutrition, immunization programs, and reproductive health.

Health Systems

Health workforce, service delivery, financing, governance, and essential medicines access in resource-limited settings.

Epidemiology

Disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, burden of disease studies, and demographic trends.

Implementation Science

Scaling up evidence-based interventions, program evaluation, and health policy analysis.

Commitment to LMICs

IJGH is committed to amplifying research voices from low- and middle-income countries. Authors from World Bank-classified low-income countries are eligible for affordable APC waivers, and we actively seek reviewers and editors from diverse geographic regions.
